Dark Aeons Guide (FFX)
This is a Guide to beating the Dark Aeons on FFX. Having done most of them myself I will try to be as detailed as possible with their attack, and you armour and weapon sets needed.
First of all, you need a team. Call the team a name if you like, I don't mind. The best team to use, is Tidus, Wakka and Rikku.
Tidus: He makes use of Blitz Ace and Slice and Dice to inflict more damage. Also, in the eary aeons when you havn't stat maxed, his speed is a boost.
Wakka: He makes use of Attack Reels and ranged attacks. In the early aeons, his accuracy and luck help. But what we want him for is attack reels.
Rikku: She makes use of Trio of 9999 and other useful mixes like Hyper Mighty Guard. Speed is good.
Thats is universally the best team to use, mostly because of their OD's.
Now you need to obtain all of the superteams Celestial Weapons, and all of their OD's. There are two guides on the Main page for this. Got them? Good.
Now for a little thing called - Stat Maxing -
You don't really have to have 255 for every stat. The lower the Dark Aeon, the lower you're Stats can be. You'll want you're strength to be max, you're defence and magic defence not far behind. Speed is good, evasion doesn't matter much. Accuracy will be key, it will need to be high. When at least two of your team are dealing about 99999, you're ready to take the first aeon. Knowing most of the skills, will also help, and you're gong to need Auto Life. A lot. Also, everything the regular Aeons are immune too, they will be too.
Armour
The next thing you need is Armour. You will need Bribe, and the Monster arena. You will probably need two different armours. My ultimate armour that I have on my characters is:
Tidus- Auto Haste, Auto Phoenix, Auto Potion, and Auto Med
Wakka- Break HP Limit, Auto Haste, Auto Potion, Auto Protect
Rikku- Break HP Limit, Ribbon, Auto Haste, Auto Phoenix
As you can see, my armour is varied for different situations. The official ultimate armour is:
Auto Haste, Auto Phoenix, Auto Potion, and Auto Protect.
Make your own assumtions if you like to create your own ultimate armour.
Note: Wards, Proofs and Eater's will not absorb elemental attacks from dark aeons.
Note: Never use regular attack. Quick Hit. Always Quick Hit.
Note: Even though all evasion says 0, they all have high evasion. Don't ask me why, they just do.
The Difficulty in Order
Valefor
Ixion
Ifrit
Shiva
Yojimbo
Bahamut
Anima
Magus Sisters
For starters, we have (the rather pitiful) Valefor. He/She is located in Besaid. If you attempt to head back into the village, you'll be confronted by her. Lets take a look at her stats shall we?
Valefor
HP- 800,000
AP- 10,000 (15,000 overkill)
Strength- 148
Defence- 120
Magic- 186
Magic Defence- 220
Agility- 105
Luck- 48
Evasion- 10
Accuracy- 250
Attack's
Regular attack- Attacks one party member. Auto Phoenix will bring them back.
Sonic Wings- Attack one party member, causes Massive Delay. Again, Auto Phoenix.
Energy Ray- This will hurt, but it won't exceed the damage limit. Cast Auto Life to render it useless.
Energy Blast (OD)- Attacks all party members for 99,999 damage. Auto Life FTW. Or, summon an aeon to take the damage.
Strategy- Very easy. If Wakka's doing 99,999 damage a Perfect attack reels will kill him. If it doesn't for some reoson, Blitz Ace to finish it.
NOTE: If you would like a Ribbon armour, now is the time to get one. Reload the game, and keep kicking the crap out of her until she drops one with 3 Free slots. Simple.
Ifrit
Location- Remember where the Al Bhed home is? Go there. When the Al Bhed asks you a question, say yes.
HP- 1,400,000
AP- 20,000 (30,000 overkill)
Strength- 220
Defence- 187
Magic- 177
Magic Defence- 163
Agility- 124
Luck- 27
Evasion- 8
Accuracy- 230
Attack's
Regular Attack- Attack's one party member. Auto Phoenix heals them.
Meteor Strike- Damage to one party member. Auto Phoenix heals them.
Firaja(I think)- Fire Damage to one party member. It isn't a Typo. Aeons have a completely unaccesible magic level, the -ja spells. Auto phoenix again.
Hellfire (OD)- Damage to all party members. I think it dispels auto life, so summon an aeon to block.
Strategy- Another easy aeon. Perfect attack reels and Blitz Ace might finish him. If not, keep attacking or have Rikku use entrust on Wakka to refill his OD bar.
Note: If you're a greedy person and would like another Ribbon, get another one now.
Ixion
Location- Thunder Plains, the second half. Talk to the Yevon Guard.
Note: You have to fight it twice! I'll post strategy, stats and moves for both times.
First Time
HP- 1,200,000
AP- 20,000 (30,000 overkill)
Strength- 176
Defence- 220
Magic- 133
Magic Defence- 188
Agility- 180
Luck- 36
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 250
Attack's
Regular Attack- Attack's one party member, causes Sleep. Auto Phoenix handles it.
Thundaja- Thunder Damage to one party member. Auto Phoenix.
Aerospark (OD)- Damage to one Party Member. Auto Phoenix.
Strategy- Very easy. Quick Hit him with OD's until he goes down. None of his attacks hit more than one party member. Just make sure he doesn't have two to three attacks in a row.
Next, the girl and D.Ixion will disappear. Heal at the save point, then just wait. When it comes bak, charge it to start the fight.
Second Time
Stats are the same, but he has lower agility then before.
Attack's
Regular Attack- Same as before.
Aerospark- No longer OD, he uses this freely. Auto Phoenix.
Thor's Hammer (OD) - Attack's all party members. Auto Life or Aeon to block.
Strategy- Nail him with OD's and quick Hit. He probably won't get to use his OD. Simple.
Shiva
Location- Head back to Macalania. Attempt to enter the Temple, and the priests will attack.
HP- 1,100,000
AP- 20,000 (Overkill- 30,000)
Strength- 173
Defence- 163
Magic- 244
Magic Defence- 255
Agility- 255
Luck- 73
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 250
Attack's
Regular Attack- Damage to one party member.
Heavely Strike- Damage to one Party member, Inflicts Death Ribbon will not protect against this.
Diamond Dust- Attacks all party members. Cast Auto Life or use an Aeon.
Strategy- If you pummel her and you have High agility, she'll die without getting in an attack Another easy ribbon if you need it.
Bahamut
Location- Zanarkand, where the Sun Crest and Yunalesca are.
HP- 40,000
AP- 30,000 (overkill 40,000)
Strength- 245
Defence- 234
Magic- 222
Magic Defence- 223
Agility- 255
Luck- 102
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 250
Attack's
Regular Attack- Damages one party member.
Impulse- Will use after being attacked FIVE times. Damage and Petrify to all Party members.
Mega Flare (Overdrive)- Massive non-elemental damage to all party members.
Strategy- There are two ways you can do this. If you have Stoneproof on your armour (Ribbon will work), keep attacking him, use aeons to block his OD or Auto-Life to revive, like a regular battle. However, if you want to do it a different way, use Tidus and Wakka's evade and counter. The Impulse counter wont rise. So, Attack Reels him 4 times, then have Tidus and Wakka use Sentinel on their last turn before Dark Bahamuts, and Rikku defend. This way, they'll counter him for damage.
Yojimbo
Location- Cavern of the Stolen Fayth
HP- 1,600,000
AP- 8000 (Overkill 10,000)
Strength- 244
Defence- 220
Magic- 131
Magic Defence- 144
Agility- 243
Luck- 114
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 255
Attack's
Daigoro- Attack's one Party member. Can inflict Petrification.
Kozuka- Attack's one Party member. Inflict's Full Break (I think).
Wakizashi- Attacks 1 or all Party members.
Zanmato (Overdrive)- Instant kill to a Party member. Use an aeon to block, as it has an eject effect.
Strategy- You have to fight him Five times, by chasing the summoner back through the different parts of the cave. He's not very powerful, probably won't get a chance to use his OD. He'll dodge alot of attacks, so just keep attacking and use aeons to block. Use save points to heal in between.
Note: There is a glitch here to get unlimited Master spheres and Dark matters. Save at the save point just before the first fight, then fight him as normal. Then save again, then reload the game. You'll keep the rewards, but get to fight him again! This is also a good way to get Break HP Limit + Ribbon armours for all characters.
Anima
Location- Remember Wakka's minigame on Gagazet, where you had to hrow the ball and hit the circle? Go back and do it again, and Anima will be at the base of Gagazet.
HP- 8,000,000
AP- 30,000 (40,000 Overkill)
Strength- 155
Defence- 230
Magic- 255
Magic Defence- 255
Agility- 183
Luck- 85
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 255
Attack's
Regular Attack- Damage to one Party member.
Pain- Death to one party member.
Mega Graviton- 93.75% of Total Health damage (I think) to all characters.
Oblivion (Overdrive)- Kill's all. You must summon an aeon to block, or the battles is over, because it dispels Auto Life. Unless you have extreme health, and a lot of luck. Also drains MP to zero.
Strategy- A long battle, but easy with your Ribbon/ Stoneproof armour. You do have those right? Good. Standard tactics really, heal often, quick hit. You should finish him after all your aeons are dead, because you will be summoning them to block.
Dark Magus Sister's
There are three of them. Get ready for a very difficult fight.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Yuna needs to be in with first strike to block an aeon ready.
Location- Mushroom Rock Road. Approach the Nuns.
Dark Cindy
HP- 3,000,000
AP- 10,000 (12,000 Overkill)
Strength- 175
Defence- 223
Magic- 171
Magic Defence- 105
Agility- 185
Luck- 40
Evasion- 0
Accuracy- 255
Dark Sandy
HP- 2,500,000
AP- 10,000 (12,000 Overkill)
Strength- 186
Defence- 201
Magic- 207
Magic Defence- 168
Agility- 201
Luck- 80
Evasion- 100
Accuracy- 255
Dark Mindy
HP- 2,000,000
AP- 10,000 (12,000 Overkill)
Strength- 148
Defence- 147
Magic- 248
Magic Defence- 132
Agility- 233
Luck- 130
Evasion- 240
Accuracy- 255
Attack's
Regular Attack- Damages one Party member. Sandy's regular attack inflicts Petrification.
Camisade- Sandy- Massive Damage to one party member.
Passado- Mindy- Game Over unless you have a lot of real life luck.
Razzia- Cindy- Massive damage to one party member.
Tetra Graviton (Overdrive)- Will use when one sister has Overdrive full. 93.75% of current health gone.
Delta Attack- Will use when all overdrives are full. Use an aeon to block, otherwise game over.
Strategy- As soon as the battle starts, run into the Mushroom Rock Road. You have to run as fast as you can to escape the sisters. They'll probably catch you, so get ready to fight. Summon an aeon instantly to block their OD, then pound Mindy until she dies. Both Delta Attack and Passado threats gone. Continue to pound them until they die. Concentrate on one at a time. Be very careful in this battle.

RE: Dark Aeons Guide (FFX)
Sorry for the double post of epicness, but I didn't want to confuse myself by putting it in that already OMGMASSIVE guide. This (if he likes it) can be the first guide Xarim puts in the content sections.
On a side note, now that I have my own PC I can do a lot more of these than in previous times.
I should also have some of these on my old pc. Crossing my fingers on that, because all the guides I did amounted to many hours of work, and I really dont feel like typing out every ability, aeon, and node over again.

RE: Dark Aeons Guide (FFX)
Now why don't /my/ staff do stuff like this? I haven't gotten a completed submission from them in forever. XD
But I have a question. Is this in the regular version of FFX? I don't seem to remember anything like this. o_o I just remember fighting the Dark Aeons at the very end where you can't die.
