The rumor has once again returned, thanks to translated information taken from Japanese gaming magazine, Dengeki. According to the beloved character designer for the legendary franchise, Tetsuya Nomura, "a big announcement is being prepared for Final Fantasy VII," and it has nothing to do with the scheduled release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete." The announcement won't come at E3 next week, but at Square-Enix's private party - the weirdly labeled "DKS3713" - in August. Okay, so we've heard promising stuff like this before; it gets us all worked up and hopeful, and then they reveal some PSP spin-off or something, and we're all disappointed again. So it's probably not a good idea to start believing in what many are saying is the impossible, but...we can't help but cross our fingers once more.

Yeah... given the response to FFVII in the first place, they cant afford not to remake it. That is what we're talking about, right? The thread was rather vague. But anyway, while i'm no FF VII fanboy or nothing, i did mildly enjoy it and would like to see the remake, which i assume will have a story that makes more sense to me. And clearly will look nice.

square is planning to have the ff7 compilation for many years to come. so probably this one will come out. but with so many big project they have now, i wonder when it will be released...

I just wish the other FF games had received the fame VII did. I liked them better anyways.

It receives so much fame because it sold more copies than any other to date, which would suggest its the most popular. So square are working on peoples likes

I'm quite sure they'll release it eventually, and it would be VERY pretty on the PS3. I could see why they wouldn't do it for the PS2, but I don't think they have any reason not to do it now since it's been 10 years since the original came out. (I still play it though. xD)
