So are you for or against a gay marriage?
Or you for or against gay' s at all?
Should they be allowed to adopt children?

RE: Gay Marriage?

I believe that everyone has the right to share their life with the one they love, but I would prefer a "civil union" for gay couples since marriage strikes me as more of a conventional and religious thing.

I also don't see a problem with gay couples adopting children. Being a homosexual is really not a bad thing and it's really no one else's business whether or not two people who love each other should be allowed to raise a child.

Kind of off topic but...people say that gay marriage is unnatural and inversely beneficial to the survival of mankind because no offspring will be produced...but if that were true, then why do we allow people who are unable to give birth to marry?

RE: Gay Marriage?

I'm all for it, being gay myself. xP

Heh, to those who think it's wrong because it can't produce children.... Think about how overcrowded places are becoming. Is it so wrong that a couple can't produce a child? They could always adopt a child that has no parents and give them a loving home, too.

I completely agree. So long as both parents love each other and love their child, be the parents gay or barren or the child adopted, why should anyone care or think it's wrong?

And I also agree that the whole "if there be no babays , there be no love" logic is a completely moronic and primitive standpoint and view.

RE: Gay Marriage?

well i don't mind people being gay or gay's marriage, as long as they love each other why not? but in here most people is against it, gay's marriage is not allowed.

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

RE: Gay Marriage?

Now don't get me wrong, Im sure there nice people an' all but Im against it. Being brought up in a catholic family (being roman catholic myself) One reason is that is is unnatural, for those that believe in faith and their 'holy books' a gay marriage would be like throwing this book out the window. All the religious books say that man sleeping with another man is a sin. I also believe that someone who is gay can not be christian or any other faith for that matter, as most of these faiths are against homosexuality.

RE: Gay Marriage?

i'm against gay marriage. i love some gay people, believe me. but it's just "marriage" is holy matrimony btwn. man and woman... not man and man, woman and woman. sure, gay couples can go ahead and live together if desired. there is no need for gay marriage. but then again, i shouldn't call it gay marriage b/c "gay" and "marriage" doesn't even go together.. unless i mean "gay" as in happy. xD but yeaa .. no lol just don't. i find marriage a holy and wholesome thing, and i'd hate to see that ruined.

about adopting a child.. think about how the child would feel if his/her new parents are gay... not so good, right? i don't know, i think it is selfish. if they want a child, well be single and adopt 1, or marry the opposite sex and actually give birth to 1 the NORMAL way. spare the poor kid.

I agree with Tamales on the adopting part. It's unfair to do that to a child. 2 Fathers or 2 mothers could break a child, just like divorces.

RE: Gay Marriage?

I see marriage as a civil rights issue, not a religious one. A gay couple should have the same legal rights as a straight couple. Any argument against that is bigotry in its purest form. I don't even really care if its called marriage or not, provided all couples are extended the same legal benefits. (If the majority ALWAYS rules, then we'd still have segregation, and slavery. You can't suppress a minority unless you want serious problems.)

Also, children. I don't see any reason that a child can't be raised normally with same-sex parents. At least then the child would be raised free of bigotry, unlike the way most "normal" families raise their children.
